While the machine is plugged into the power the unit is in standby mode. In standby mode there is no output, however some microchips are still active including the standby mode CPU of the backlit LCD itself. As the machine uses a touch-pad key for off, rather than a sliding switch, the machine must stay in standby mode while it keeps the keyboard cpu activated to watch for a “On” keypress. The screen is also in a similar sleep state which can activate a faster refresh time when “ON” is key-pressed. It is common knowledge in electronics that a touchpad keyboard is constantly on even when a machine is off. Your iPhone is even on after you have switched it off because the phone must have an active CPU detecting the keypress of the “on” button. The type of LCD Backlit display used on the Rife Digital uses different technology than an iPhone screen, and on a scale of 1-100 % the LCD would be considered to be 1 % on (standby) when the physical machine has been turned off, to permit a faster refresh rate at the power on moment.
