Question:

Not sure what stage cancer, because  I’ve only had a CT scan and MRI. They’ve sent me to UC Davis cancer center, appointment Nov 12.

Don’t think the cancer has metastasized because results say it is encapsulated, but there is a second mass also, a pelvic mass. No frequency for that, hopefully you have one!

Answer:

In the medical report, the term “pelvic mass” typically refers to an abnormal growth or lump located in the pelvic region. This mass could potentially be a tumor, which can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous).

Further diagnostic imaging (like ultrasound, CT scans, or MRI) and possibly biopsies are often employed to determine the nature of the mass. The report may also include details about the mass’s characteristics, which can help in assessing whether it is likely to be cancerous and in formulating a treatment plan.

As the Pelvic area encompasses many types of potential tumors, malignant or not, here is a further summary

1. Malignant Tumors:

Ovarian Cancer: Malignancies that originate in the ovaries, including serous, mucinous, endometrioid, and clear cell carcinomas.

Uterine (Endometrial) Cancer: Cancer that begins in the lining of the uterus.

Cervical Cancer: Cancer that starts in the cervix, often related to HPV infection.

Bladder Cancer: Malignancies that start in the bladder lining, such as transitional cell carcinoma.

2. Non-Malignant Tumors:

Fibroids (Uterine Leiomyomas): Non-cancerous growths of the uterus that can cause pelvic masses.

Ovarian Cysts: Fluid-filled sacs on the ovaries that are generally benign.

Benign Teratomas: Tumors composed of different types of tissue, often found in the ovaries.

Endometriomas: Cysts formed from endometrial tissue outside the uterus, often associated with endometriosis.

Lipomas: Non-cancerous tumors made of fat tissue that can occur in various locations, including the pelvic area.

These are just examples, and further evaluation is necessary to determine the exact nature of any pelvic mass before a specific group can be suggested.  At least for the moment continue with the suggested Ovarian Frequency Set
