Question:
Thank you for that information. I like using these accessories better than the hand cylinders and foot plates that came with the GB.
I do have another question. The instructions with the GB4000 say to always avoid touching one hand cylinder with the other when a channel is running as it can cause a short circuit and damage the machine. Would this be the same precaution when using the flex or velcro straps? It seems that the metal contact on the straps is on the inside against the skin so an accidental contact of one strap with the other on the outside should not cause any problem. I would like to be able to wear the flex straps and run channels while working on my computer (using mouse and keyboard). Is there a problem handling another device such as a wired mouse with the straps on and a channel running?
Answer:
Regarding the GB4000, while it is equipped with built-in short circuit protection, I would advise against relying on this safeguard for extended periods. The GB4000 employs a large resistor to absorb accidental short circuits. However, prolonged exposure to a short circuit scenario—such as when the handholds come into direct contact for an extended duration—can generate significant heat buildup, potentially leading to damage or degradation of the resistor over time. To ensure optimal longevity and performance of the device, it is advisable to minimize unnecessary short circuit conditions whenever possible.
Regarding the Flex Straps, they have been tested and confirmed to operate without any interference with other wired computer equipment or channels. Their design and functionality ensure seamless integration with existing systems without causing disruptions or signal disturbances.
