Question:
- For a single person treating ICE syndrome need the full set or the lesser version, specifically asking about needing two Eye Masks.
Answer:
No, there is no requirement for 2 masks, unless there is another household member who requires the second. One mask will be suitable for a single person treatment.
Iridocorneal Endothelial (ICE) syndrome is a rare, usually unilateral eye condition characterized by the abnormal migration of corneal endothelial cells. Instead of maintaining their standard single-layer formation, these cells spread across the eye’s drainage angle and onto the iris, leading to three primary complications.
This progression results in corneal swelling or edema, which causes cloudiness and blurry vision that is often most severe in the morning; significant iris changes, such as thinning, the development of holes, or a misshapen pupil; and secondary glaucoma, as the migrating cells obstruct the eye’s natural drainage system, creating high intraocular pressure that can ultimately damage the optic nerve.
