AC vs DC – Technical information

AC is more dangerous than DC (The machines use a transformer to change the AC signal to DC)

Technically Speaking, as DC is steady current its voltage remains the same i.e 16v. The AC is RMS. it increases from zero to maximum value. for example I = 16v√2 (square root 2) Multiply 16 x 1.414 to give I = 22.6v.

Historically speaking, George Westinghouse and Edison became adversaries because of Edison’s promotion of direct current (DC) for electric power distribution instead of the more easily transmitted alternating current (AC) system promoted by Westinghouse.

1) Thomas Edison used and promoted the usage of DC and not AC. Even, the war against AC led Edison to the development and promotion of the electric chair as a demonstration of lethal AC versus his “safer” DC.

2) As part of this demonstration, Edison publicly electrocuted dogs and cats with AC power and the animals were killed. Edison later hooked other animals to his DC, of which the animals lived Generally speaking I would say that it would be safe to be exposed to 16v AC, however the RMS (cycling) can peak at AC 22.6v.

Provided you keep your AC output low, there shouldn’t be a problem Another point is that the Rife Machine Light output was AC, however people did not touch the light, they sat in front of the light for healing treatments. ie: no contact
